Qualifications
BA (Hons) Arch, BArch, ARB
Stewart joined us as a consultant in 2016 to help us identify and achieve our business growth objectives. Over the last 8 years, Stewart has worked closely with the management team to develop, refresh, and implement people-focused business plans. He is a Registered Architect with over 35 years of experience in mainstream architectural practice.
Poole Dick was the first Quantity Surveyors that Stewart worked with when he qualified! Splitting his time between consultancy, education, pro-bono, and charity activities, Stewart is well-known in the North West property and construction sector.
He is the current Chair of Greater Manchester Chamber’s Property & Construction Group and was previously the Chair of both FBE Manchester and Norfox, a Charitable trust set up over 20 years ago to help children in need.
Stewart is also a consultant with AEW Architects and has supported a number of businesses since he set up his specialist business growth consultancy.
He has always enjoyed his links with education, previously being a visiting lecturer at Manchester University where he originally studied architecture. He became a professional examiner for the RIBA in 2000, and has recently been involved as a professional examiner and marker at the Bartlett School of Architecture at University College London.
Outside of Work
Along with his architect wife Ali, Stewart has always enjoyed being involved in niche residential development. He designed and built their home in Mobberley in 2013 before moving to the Wirral in 2016.
Happiest outdoors, whether it be on the golf course or in the garden, Stewart is a lifelong rugby fan who remains obsessed with the AllBlacks and the links between their sporting and cultural ideology and success in business. In 2015, as part of a mid-career ‘gap year’ he cycled from Land’s End to John O’Groats, partly for the challenge as well as to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
