Qualifications

Lee has had a wide and varied career in construction. Having spent over 18 years working for the family construction company he left to join BTP Architects. Having completed his degree in quantity surveying at Salford University, he rose to become a Director.
Having spent most of his career in housing and regeneration, he moved on to expand in other areas and become an associate director at Lancaster Maloney, working in the education sector. This encompassed using his varied skills to survey, design, and cost to prepare CIF bids to enable schools to refurbish and expand their properties.
Lee has a keen interest and experience in the Heritage sector.
It is while at Poole Dick that he has qualified as a retrofit assessor and sits on the retrofit working group.
Projects
The highlight of his career so far, was designing and overseeing the two phases of the regeneration of the Veterans Village at Canada Street in Manchester for the BBC programme DIY SOS culminating in not only providing homes for veterans, but winning several awards including the RICS NW award for regeneration & LABC award for best inclusive design.
Lee was also responsible for designing and implementing a new Health and Safety strategy for BTP to enable them to offer the Principal Designer Role under CDM 2015.

Outside of Work
Outside of work Lee plays an active part in his community as an elected Town Councillor, former mayor and sitting on numerous committees including as vice chair of planning and chair of the community order and public safety committee. One of his highlights was Chairing the Neighbourhood Plan group over several years resulting, following a referendum, in a Neighbourhood Plan for Poynton
In addition to this he is Chair of Trustees of the Harry Turner Almshouse Trust in Macclesfield overseeing the running of 36 Almshouses for the over 55’s.
What (little) remaining spare time he has he enjoys travelling with his family.
