Manchester Student Village South (MSVS)

Manchester Student Village South is a student accommodation facility owned and managed by Dwell Student Living. The site is based off Oxford Road, South Manchester. The facility offers 87 newly refurbished student cluster flats with 362 bedrooms.
The works includes the strip out of existing bedrooms and a full refurbishment, including: new kitchens, en-suites, fixtures, decorations and M&E fittings, including new boilers. Refurbishment of the communal corridors and staircases is also included. Some of the flats have had alterations to build in a new en-suite bedroom.
Key Considerations
The works are to take 12 months to complete and are on a rolling programme basis.
The phases are tight and deadlines must be hit to ensure the relocation of students from the old rooms to the newly refurbished rooms.
The Outcome
The work is ongoing. Covid has had an impact on the programme as the size of the workforce on site, within the confined spaces, has had to be reduced, however works are progressing well and are on target.
Results
This is the fifth project we have undertaken with Dwell.
