Dovedale Avenue, PrestonWell-being
Community Gateways project at Dovedale Avenue is Preston’s first independent living scheme.
The scheme consists of 60 apartments, all with private outdoor space, a bistro, hairdressers, treatment/consultation and activity rooms.
Once completed the facilities, including the communal gardens, opened to the general public to encourage engagement with the wider community and neighbouring residents.
The first of its kind in Preston and one of very few in Lancashire, the new independent living scheme provides 24 hour support to residents with a range of support needs. At the time, the below comments were made:
“This scheme will provide a fantastic resource for the local community, who have been overwhelmingly supportive. When the scheme is completed, the building and the service that we will be able to deliver for some of our most vulnerable residents will be something that the local community and everyone involved in designing the scheme can be really proud of.”
