Aspire Housing transferred out of Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council in 2000. They have a large portfolio of legacy elderly accommodation (old Cat 1, Cat 2 and care homes) which needed addressing. They have decided on a mixture of demolition, new build and some remodelling. We have been appointed as Employer’s Agent and Quantity Surveyors on the first four phases of development, which includes decanting of vulnerable residents.
Brighton House
The works include the conversion of an existing care home into sixteen one-bedroom apartments and three two-bedroom apartments at Silverdale.
This scheme commenced on site in Autumn 2020.
Ashfields Grange
The works comprise the demolition and site clearance of an existing care home, under an enabling package managed by Poole Dick, in addition to the design and construction of 90 newly refurbished elderly people’s apartments in a single block, together with associated siteworks, car parking and drainage.

Cross Street, Chesterton
The works comprise the demolition, clearance, design and construction of 125 newly refurbished units comprising: 73 supported living apartments, 44 houses/bungalows and 8 walk-up apartments across 3 newly refurbished sites, together with associated siteworks, car parking, drainage and services.
This scheme is at planning approval stage.
Brighton House, Phase 2
The works comprise the demolition and site clearance, design and construction of 1 newly refurbished block of 51 new apartments and 1 newly refurbished block of 6 ‘walk up’ apartments together with associated siteworks, car parking and drainage.
